Reframe, Glossy, and Transformation

Waktu lagi beres-beres kamar tadi pagi, ngerapihin koran and majalah yang bertebaran di sana-sini kayak kapal pecah, I came upon this article in newspaper tentang tragedi di sebuah acara musik underground Bandung.

Note the part I put box on, or click here for bigger version.

Incredible demonstration about state-control and reframing.

Waktu pertama kali baca berita itu, I just couldn’t believe what I was reading. I had to read it a couple of times to make sure I was reading it right. It was so out of this world and the parent’s ability to cope with the situation is legendary. Gue ngga bisa inget kapan terakhir kali pernah ngedenger such remark keluar dari seorang pihak yang mengalami musibah besar.

I could feel warm sensation in my heart upon reading the part, because it was truly a rare and stunning story, especially considering itu dilakukan oleh orang Indonesia. I personally think that the reason why our country is so much in fucking mess is because setiap kali terjadi tindakan kriminal, tragedi, ataupun bencana nasional (dan internasional), kalimat yang selalu pertama kali muncul dari para pemimpin negara adalah, “Kami mengutuk pihak yang terlibat dalam XYZ bla bla bla…” Dan kalimat tersebut diulang dan disebar ratusan juta kali lewat media massa yang menaruhnya sebagai judul artikel ataupun bagian dari tulisan mereka. The leaders and media are setting an example for every Indonesian citizen on how to deal with tragedies.

Mengutuk. What a waste of energy.

I just wish ada lebih banyak orang seperti Bapak Masrion (dan sang jurnalis surat kabar) yang bisa menularkan good habit of building a mature and healthy set of constructive paradigms. I’m sure apa yang mereka berdua lakukan itu akan memberikan nilai positif terhadap kebobrokan mental yang terjadi di bangsa ini. And speaking about it, that is also the sole reason for our big event @ Bandung last week, Total Immersion Bootcamp.

TIB

It was an intense three-days retreat, khusus untuk alumni workshop/seminar, yang difokusin untuk ngebawa mereka to a much higher level in creating both excellent romance and lifestyle. Seluruh tujuh sesi berbicara dengan sangat detil tentang inner games and paradigms. So, brothers, if some of you guys are still wondering seperti apa sih attitude Glossy Guy yang mempraktekkan nilai-nilai transformasi yang gue, Jet, Kei, dan Cygnus bagiin selama berjam-jam kemarin itu, salah satu contohnya adalah apa yang dilakukan oleh Bapak Masrion dalam berita tragedi di atas.

He is clearly not living in a “I am a victim!” state.

He does not let the situation nor his own emotion take the better of him.

He is the agent of change; he is the influencer.

Set your foundation right, build a self-preserving glossified state, and use it to make the world a better place.

  2. Bagwell, MyBox yang kita buat khusus untuk konsumsi desktop PC. Kalau mau untuk versi PDA, then kudu customized dulu. Let me know what PDA reader you’re using, and lets see if I can get it converted into the format.
